Once a web page or site has been created for your business, the next step is to announce this information to the World Wide Web. When you run a successful business, you have to advertise to get the word out and web pages are no different.

      When consumers search the web, nine times out of ten, they do not know where to go for their answers. Most users rely on the help of a search engine. A Search Engine is a workhorse site on the web that indexes other sites. There are various types of search engines on the net and each one works a little differently and offers a unique specialty.

How Search Engines work

      Serenity's Spiritual Creations does the work for you. I will register your URL (Universal Resource Locator) with the search engines and inform these sites of your web address. Each company that operates a Search Engine site offers select instructions on what is allowed during the registration of a site. Some companies only allow the location information, others allow a brief description of the site (usually around 20 words), and a few key words or Meta Tags, to index the site.

      Serenity's Spiritual Creations works with these search engines on an ongoing basis updating our customer’s sites. I maintain current information on what they accept and reject and use my knowledge to get your page on as many sites as possible with the best available exposure.

      For example, lets say you have a business that offers coaching. The site that I will create for you would read something like  www.namastecafe.com/coaching.htm, having it hosted in this way signifies that it is a virtual domain. I will register you with many different search engines, giving all of them your URL of: www.namastecafe.com/coaching.htm. If you own your own domain name it will be listed under that URL. You would provide a description to highlight your web site which would offer a clue to what you Web is about, like: "Professional Spirit Coaching for those that are seeking a Whole Life experience." I will also use key words( for example, spirit, coaching, inspiration, empowerment, heart, insight, etc) to index your site by, so that when a person types in the word "coaching" or "empowerment" or "inspiration", your site will be one of the ones that gets pulled up for them to choose from in the search engines.

      Some search engines do not accept any information except the URL. (Universal Resource Locator) These search engines have a robot or spider - a special computer program that visits the sites that are about to be registered, and keeps track of every word on the page(s). The more a certain word appears on the site (ex. coaching), the more importance the robot or spider will give to that word. The most important (ie. repeated) words become the key words that the robot uses to index the site. Sometimes the robot will determine a description from a particular sentence or phrase that appears on your web site. It is important to remember that this is becoming the most popular way by Search Engines to index sites so the writing of and description of your home page is very important.

      I am available to help you write the content for your home page, or edit your page so that it receives more attention. I also add a description Meta Tag to the HTML of the page to help the search engines present you in the way you wish to be presented. Another meta Tag I add to the HTML is the keyword tag. This is a list of words that you provide our designers. The keyword tag will consist of any words, singular and plural, that you can think of that a person might use to search for anything having to do with your site.

How long does it take?

      Serenity's Spiritual Creations registers your site with the search engines as soon as you have approved the finished version of your web site. Registration by me for your company is submitted to the search engines within 48 hours of your approval of the page. However, it can take anywhere from a couple days up to six weeks for the Search Engine to have your Web Site fully indexed and available for people to start finding.

Meta Tags ......

      Meta tags contain vital information about a web site, including title, description and keywords. In order to promote a web site on the Internet, the site must be listed with leading Internet Search Engines. Because most search engines incorporate Meta tag content into their ranking algorithms, well-composed Meta data should be an integral part of any web site. Meta tags are invisible to end users and do not directly affect how a web site is displayed. I will need you to carefully plan what keywords you would like to add to your question form.
