We are a family dedicated to the idea that FOOD is more than nourishment. FOOD can be a tool to return the family to the old fashioned idea of the meal as a gathering place and focus center of family life. Sharing meals together is an ancient custom and a part of life that must not become a lost art. FOOD must again become an exciting and integral part of the entertainment of friends and family. And we can make it EASY with our gourmet mixes and sauces.

We want all of our family to be enriched financially by working with TASTE OF GOURMET and to grow with us into the twenty-first century. We want to share our fun and our profits with the greater community by designating St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis,Tennessee to receive donations from projects within our TASTE OF GOURMET business.

We want to build strong, trusting, and profitable relationships with our staff, with our Consultants, and with our customers.

Makes Food Shopping Fun and Delicious

This new company, which sponsors Gourmet Food Tasting Parties, is a Division of Antique Mall and Crown Restaurant in Indianola, Mississippi.

The new company sells directly to the consumer through a traditional party plan or trunk showing concept. Guests are invited to sample all of the foods that are offered for sale and order the ones they enjoyed tasting. Consultants prepare the samples, take the orders and give suggestions and recipes for using the wide variety of foods sold through TASTE OF GOURMET!

The need for this type of marketing is best illustrated by the reaction of customers who taste the company's Smoked Catfish Pate for the first time! "I can't believe the Pate is this good! If I hadn't tasted it I never would have bought it!" Tasting a Gourmet Food is the best way to sell it and to educate the customer on how to use it! The Antique Mall's Gourmet Pie Mixes are another example of the need to sample a product. The home made quality of the baked pie is a surprise to many first time users of the mix.

"It can't be as good as Granny's Chess Pie, but it is!"

TASTE OF GOURMET did a test marketing "party" in July of 1996. The business has spread now into many states with active Consultants working with the company. With the initial testing phase complete, the company expects rapid growth in the number of Consultants and multitudes of customers happy with the foods sampled at TASTE OF GOURMET parties!

This is a family owned and run business with the administrative work being handled from the New Orleans office by Jennifer and Ridge Schaumburg, and shipping and production from the parent company in Indianola, Mississippi. The Antique Mall and Crown Restaurant, a 27 year old company owned by Evelyn and Tony Roughton, has been the recipient of numerous state and national awards for their excellent gourmet food products and their cookbook, CLASSIC CATFISH.
